Andre also spent three years in Miami & Florida, touring with the Ft. Lauderdale based band “The Orphans“. During that time, he was inspired and influenced by numerous jam sessions with musicians on the Miami latin & cuban music-scene, as well as by performing with Leon Wilkinson & the new line up of Lynnard Skynnard, in Jacksonville. Over a career that spans more than a decade and a half and has won her a devoted worldwide fan base, Jess Klein—who possesses what Mojo magazine calls “one of those voices you want to crawl up close to the speakers to listen to” has pursued a remarkable creative evolution that’s seen her dig ever deeper for resonant emotional insights, while continuing to refine her eloquently melodic, effortlessly accessible songcraft.

Jon Pareles of The New York Times calls her “a songwriter with a voice of unblinking tenacity…who finds parables in the everyday and also finds humanity behind the archetypal.”
The Rochester, NY native who now calls Hillsborough, NC her home began writing songs as a college student in Kingston, Jamaica, and is known for staking out brave lyrical and musical territory with such albums as Wishes Well Disguised (1998), Draw Them Near (2000), Strawberry Lover (2005), City Garden (2006), Bound to Love (2009), Behind A Veil (2012) and Learning Faith (2014) which Folk Radio UK calls “Unquestionably the finest album of her impressive career.”

Before moving to North Carolina, Jess spent eight years soaking up the live music culture of Austin, TX. Bootleg (2015) Jess’s live, full band album captures the dynamism of Jess onstage, backed by some of Austin’s top players.  Jess was named a 2015 Finalist in the highly regarded Kerrville New Folk Competition.

Doors 8:00pm
Tonight the Musician is host to a unique triple bill of rock 'n' roll and Americana and this a line-up you really shouldn't miss.

The legendary Nashville guitarist Warner E. Hodges (Jason & The Scorchers/Homemade Sin/Bluefields) will play a mix of lead and rhythm guitar across the evening with a core band, providing a vehicle for all three artists across the evening.

Webb Wilder is making his Musician debut tonight. Before there were Kings Of Leon, Keys of Black or White of Jack in Nashville, there was Webb. He combines the straight-ahead rock n' roll with surf guitar of the Ventures and twang of Duane Eddy, drawing on the feel of blues, R&B, country/rockabilly and film noir. His sound incorporates influence from Americana music as well as from the British Invasion.

Last but not certainly least, it's a very welcome return for singer-songwriter and punk/roots-rocker Eric Ambel (The Del-Lords/Joan Jett & The Blackhearts). Ambel also forged a reputation as a innovative producer, with clients such as Nils Lofgren and the Bottle Rockets. Next up was the alt supergroup The Yayhoos (Dan Baird, Terry Anderson and Keith Christopher). In 2000 he accepted an offer to join Steve Earle and the Dukes, playing on the controversial Jerusalem and Grammy Award winning The Revolution Starts... Now.

The music doesn't have a fixed genre, and that's the way Lexie likes to write her songs. In a typical gig you'll hear Crossover Country then American Folk, just when you're assuming the next will be another Country -esque tune she'll throw Funk, Blues, Pop and just for good measure a Zorba!. This eclectic and fresh mix of songwriting is proving to be a huge hit with the fans, radio stations and venues alike with international airplay and the gig calendar filling up months in advance.

Fifteen years ago, Jolie Holland and Samantha Parton - two founders of the wildly popular group The Be Good Tanyas - first joined forces. Now they come together once again, with a worldwide touring schedule and new studio album coming in 2017. Their new project, as always, is a page from the big book of North Americana and outsider folk.

Holland grew up in Texas, and by her teens was performing as a traveling musician. In the late ’90s, she called San Francisco home before making her way to Canada where she co-founded the Tanyas with Vancouver singer-songwriter Samantha Parton. Parton had spent her post-high school years traveling with her guitar, and drawing strong musical inspiration from visits to the southern US; she spent time living in New Orleans, Holland's ancestral home.

After contributing to the Tanyas’ acclaimed Blue Horse LP, Holland moved back to San Francisco while Parton continued to tour and record with the group until a serious car accident took her off the road in 2012. With this new creative incarnation, expect to hear newly written originals, fresh arrangements of The Be Good Tanyas material, and songs from their individual catalogs.

The ever-popular award winning ‘Dark Side Of The Wall’ return once again to present an evening of classic Pink Floyd music in their own inimitable style.

One of those is the band’s long-serving, and Leicester-based, bass player Steve Chilton, says, “I always think that one of our great selling points is the fact that we love what we do. Live gigs should always be about that band and audience interaction. Pink Floyd’s music and persona is often perceived as quite serious but whilst we perform their music with the love and respect it deserves, we always bring our own personalities to the stage. This is definitely no ‘look-a-like’ tribute band and we’re proud of that. Who’d want to look like Pink Floyd anyway?”

In well over 2 hours of reverent tribute to their heroes DSOTW perform music from all Pink Floyd’s classic albums and feature tracks such as Comfortably Numb, Money, Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Another Brick In The Wall to name just a few. If you’ve seen Dark Side Of The Wall in concert before then you’ll know it’s a gig not to be missed as they bring their theatre show into the more intimate setting of the Musician.

Fleetingwood Mac are a young and exciting new tribute to the legendary band Fleetwood Mac. They didn’t set out to be yet another tribute band, with tacky wigs and fancy dress outfits, but instead bring across the live sound of Fleetwood Mac, with just one guitar, a keyboard, a drum kit, a man on the bass and of course, the vocals!

As much as they aim to create a genuine Fleetwood Mac sound, they can’t help but give it a modern edge, it’s just the way they play. How else are five people supposed to play tribute to a band that have lasted nearly 50 years? A band who over time have featured eight different guitarists & vocalists. A band that started out as part of the sixties British Blues Invasion and ended up as one of the biggest mainstream groups of the eighties.

The band aim to introduce the songs to a new generation of fans, who just like themselves, weren’t even born when the band were in their prime. They don’t go on stage pretending to be Fleetwood Mac, instead as five young musicians who love and want to share the music of one of the world's greatest bands to a wider audience.

Elles Bailey

Bristol based Elles Bailey seamlessly weaves rootsy blues, country and soulful rock with a contemporary edge and her trademark ‘smoky vocals’ taking the lead. Her husky toned, lived-in voice sounds like she has a 60-a-day habit, but was actually caused by a serious illness when she was three. To save her, surgeons had to place a tube in her throat for seventeen days to allow her to breathe, affecting her voice giving it that 'blues feulled' quality that is getting her recognition wherever she sings.

Her two EP's, both produced by Brian Banks, (Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie) 'Who I Am To Me' (Feb 2015) and 'The Elberton Sessions' (Oct 2016) were released to critical acclaim, and her debut album ‘Wildfire’ is set to drop Summer 2017.

No stranger to the scene, over the last three years, this captivating, hard-working songstress and her talented band have built up a loyal all-age fan base through relentless touring, through both the UK and Europe. She’s opened for acts like Wille & The Bandits. Jo Harman and shared festival line-ups with Lisa Simone, The Mystery Jets & Wilko Johnson.

After getting some of the best reviews of my life I knew I had to take this bad boy on the road. It will be a night to dance, drink, sing along and allow me to dive deep into my songbook as well as play the hits. I will be playing guitar or guitar and piano depending on the venue.
