First set 8.30pm

Dizzy Lizzy are a fantastic live tribute act, dedicated to the legendary Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy. Established in 1994, their sound and set-list faithfully recreate that trademark Lizzy sound. Philomena Lynott once stated that Dizzy Lizzy are “the closest to playing my son’s music'”. The band do indeed have an amazing sound and resemblance to the classic 70s and 80s rock band, taking you back in time to relive that magical musical era with a superb blend of classic foot stomping rock anthems and emotive ballads.

One of the country's most dynamic tribute acts, they are the only act to have headlined both the ‘Vibe for Philo’ in Dublin & ‘Remember Phil & Gary’ event in Holland. They have also performed and toured with original Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell whose reaction on first seeing the band was telling. “I could only watch three numbers owing to the emotions. The resemblance to Phil and the mannerisms and playing, it was spooky – it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck…”

Doors 7:30pm
Since forming in 2012, Rainbreakers have developed their sound into a fusion of dynamic elements, bridging the gaps between Blues, Rock, Pop and Soul, exemplifying a diverse and ever-growing musical palette. The songs can shift between gritty to delicate in an instant while the melodic and pop-like hooks combined with the raw and garage-esque backdrop forge an inspiring combination. The band’s spirit draws significant influence from older artists such as Free and Humble Pie, yet expresses a strong connection with contemporary bands like The London Souls, The Black Keys, Monophonics and Gary Clark Jr.

Their performance at the 2015 Great British Rock and Blues Festival in Skegness saw them win the crowd vote on the Introducing Stage and gain a place on the Main Stage at this year’s festival. The bands efforts have even gained the attention of The British Blues Awards, who nominated Rainbreakers for The Barry Middleton Award for Emerging Artist 2016.

“The four-piece have a refreshing approach to blues rock in a style which you don’t hear too much of on the British blues circuit. Their sound channels the greats of the 60s and 70s, yet with a modern twist and a healthy dose of soul. The Rainbreakers may hail from Shrewsbury, UK, but their groove tells you Austin, Texas.” - National Blues Review

Island born Robert J. Hunter combines his gruff and powerful voice with the wild thud of overdriven blues guitar.
His powerful debut album, ’Songs for the Weary’, received blues chart success and critical acclaim and the single release, ‘Demons’, reached number one in the UK iTunes Blues Chart.
‘Before the Dawn’ followed late 2015 showing that Robert had matured and developed as a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. Robert then released a solo acoustic album, ‘Where I’m From’ on independent label, Spiritual Records.
Robert’s new album and fourth studio release, ‘The Robert J Hunter Band’ was released February 2018 and features the iTunes number one singles, ‘Wait Your Turn’ and ‘Suzy’. This self-titled LP captures The Robert J Hunter Band in their most organic and raw form. Recorded live, this is an honest record, not hidden behind the makeup of over production. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/RJHB
In 2017 Robert was a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) with his powerful ballad, ‘Preacher’ which was chosen from 16,000 entries.
Following his set at The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, The Robert J Hunter Band were chosen as the fifth and final act to compete in the UK Blues Challenge at Liverpool‘s legendary, Cavern Club.

Rock veteran Otway dubbed himself "rock'n'roll's greatest failure" after many unsuccessful attempts to produce a second hit single to follow his 1977 classic (Cor Baby, That's) Really Free with Wild Willy Barrett.

However, a mere quarter century later, he was back on Top of The Pops with the wonderful disco pastiche, ‘Bunsen Burner’ and back in the charts as a birthday present from his adoring and patient fans.

And, more recently, his "Beware Of The Flowers Cause I'm Sure They're Going To Get You Yeah" voted the seventh greatest lyric of all time in a BBC poll.

As ever, Otway attacks his favourite set list with gusto, leaving plenty of room for anarchy, fun and acrobatics that are his trademark.

The Sharpeez
£10.00adv £12.00door
The Sharpeez are a London based band, formed from the ashes of the 70s band Rebel, who mostly played in and around the London and Kent areas. At this time the Sharpees were Bill Mead, Pete Goodey and John Smith until the band suspended activities in nineteen eighty four, which wen on to be a twenty year resting period.
Bill reconvened the band in two thousand and three, but this time with Baz Payne on bass, Spencer Blackledge on drums and of course Bill Mead playing guitar and lead vocals. This is the current band line-up with the exception that Brendan O’Neill (Rory Gallagher/9 Below Zero) is now the permanent drummer. The core of the band is sometimes augmented during live performance and/or recording by Brian Willoughby (Strawbs), Richard Hayes (Bad Influence) and Roger Cotton (Pete Green’s Splinter Group).

The band enjoys an extremely busy touring schedule throughout the UK and Europe and is frequently described by Pete Feenstra as “the busiest touring band in Europe”.

Musical Influences: Rory Gallagher / Tom Petty / Robert Plant / Dr Feelgood / George Thorogood / Free / Bad Company
